Cheesehead!

Hey there!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend so far!
Once again this year I am hosting the Project 12 at Turtle Soup.
On the first Saturday of the month, I will be posting a 2 page sketch for you to use with the previous months photos. Example: February 6th I will post a sketch and you will use photos from January. This is a fun a fast way to do Project Life. I also use a lot of photos I wouldn't normally scrap- you know those photos that just aren't perfect?!
I posted a cover page challenge this morning and found an hour to play with the sketch challenge from Let's Capture Our Memories and decided to use this sketch to jump start my cover page.
I used Pink Paislee Solstice. I love this line!

Here are some close ups:

I used my Cameo to cut the cheese (LOL) and used a black marker to outline it.

I used my Cameo to also cut the leaf sprays:

Yup, used it to cut the #family too. I added journaling strips:

The frame and "Cheesehead" was also cut with the Cameo:

I added some flowers and bling:

You can check out the Project 12 board HERE

I would love if you played along and shared!

This Is The Good Stuff

Hello!
I hope you are having a fabulous week so far!
I am sharing a layout I created for a Scrap Our Stash challenge.
The challenge was to use a sketch by my scrappy friend Bev Code along with sequins.
Here is my layout using Simples Stories DIY and Fancy Pants sequins:

The photo is of me taken in the Hershey store on Clifton Hills by Niagara Falls. I am a chocoholic and loved these huge Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (one of my fav candy bars!) and had to get my pic taken with them.

I used some of the kraft journal layers from Simple Stories and used Magic Mesh to add some light modeling paste. Once dried, I painted them with a pink watercolor. I added some sequins and a few other Simple Stories embellies.

                                                               Here is Bev's cute sketch:

Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Hey there scrappy friends!
I just want to share a layout I created for my Saturday Scraplift  challenge over on the My Scraps & More board. I lifted a layout by Juliee181 along with American Crafts Dear Lizzy Serendipity and came up with this page:

I love the soft colors and mason jars in this collection along with the fun gold accents!

Hello!

There's a new challenge up at Cards In Envy today.
The challenge is to create an A2 card that is primarily the color grey.
I used American Crafts for this cute card:

I added the color border to make it pop and also added some watercolor pencil to the flower and mat around the sentiment.

If you play along with this challenge, please link up over on the Cards In Envy blog.
Have a great day!

Happy Monday!

Hello!
I am so not a winter person! I would love to be somewhere warm right now :)
I dug out some summer photos to use with today's LGS sketch to maybe warm up a bit:)
I used some older Echo Park papers- Paradise Beach. Working on my stash little by little.

I love the fun bright colors, it screams summer to me!
Here are some close ups:

I fussy cut the car out of one of the patterned papers:

Here is the sketch by Laura Whitaker:

Hope it's warm where ever you are!

Stuck?!

Hey there! Happy weekend!
I love creating with Laura Whitakers sketches and she posted a new one up at Stuck?! Sketches on the 15th and as soon as I saw it early that morning, I took some scrappy time before work and finished this layout using it:

Some close ups:

I didn't have an "e" in this font and wanted to use it, so I used a 9. I stitched the Thickers with my sewing machine.

I added some layers and a clear acetate frame and heart from Crate Paper.

I added some Studio Calico wood veneer.

I used Amy Tangerine Stitched for my papers and other embellies.

Thanks for stopping by!

Inspiration Elevator January Challenge: NEW

Our main purpose here at IE is to challenge ourselves, each other and YOU to take the creative process to the next level;  to inspire growth and change in our scrapbooking beyond our usual boundaries.
You can see all of Inspiration Elevator's previous challenges on Facebook .

This month's challenge is issued by the creative and prolific Lisa Spiegel, a scrapbooker from California who works hard to keep her pages focused on the photos and the story. Here it is in her own words:

" January is a month where we make resolutions, start fresh and have a new outlook towards many things. Our scrapping is the same way! We start new albums, pick "one little word" for new focus and even try new techniques. My challenge this month is to use the word "new" to inspire your page. Try to move beyond new products (although that is fun!) and scrap about something "new" you're committed to (maybe a new diet?), "new" to you experience and while you're at it, use a "new to you" technique. Something you've NEVER tried before this page. Tell us how it goes in your blog post!!"

I thought long and hard on what to do for this challenge, maybe I was procrastinating, lol! any way, I finally decided to create a page on the word I chose for 2015- FOCUS. This word was chosen because I need to focus more on my listening skills and also I want to work on using my DSLR camera out of the auto mode, so focus fit here too.

While in Michaels one day, I needed texture paste. When I went to get it, I noticed they have a bunch of mixed media items and started reading bottles. Instead of texture paste, I decided to buy Liquitex Glass Beads. Now I have had this for about 2 months and decided this was the perfect time to try it, something new;)

I also wanted to use my Cameo, which is fairly new as it was a Christmas gift.

Here is my layout using a sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories, the Glass Beads & Heidi Swapp September Skies:

Here are some close ups:

I cut my title using the Cameo along with the swag banner.

Here you can see the Glass Beads. I used a stencil to add them. Once they were dry, I added a few different colors of watercolors:

I thought the Glass Beads would be more like texture paste, but it dries clear. I like the Glass Beads, but Maybe next time, I would randomly put them on a page or use a larger stencil. I will definitely be getting another bottle of texture paste soon.

We encourage you to check out each designer's creation this month: here's a complete list of this month's participating designers!
                                                                      Lisa Spiegel
                                                                       Ann Jobes
