Gelatos

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Just wanted to share a layout I created using the JilliBean Happy Camper Stew line.
I used sketch # 51 from the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog along with Gelatos to create my background. This was my first time using them and I love what you can do with them!

This is such a fun and colorful camping line!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me!

Birthday Boy

Hey! It's my day up on the Just Imagine Blog today and thought I would share a birthday card I made:

I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch # 301 with no insert for my border. Love how it pops against that red patterned paper!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Monday!

Hope your Monday is treating you right!
It's time for another challenge at the Cards In Envy Blog. This weeks challenge is:

In the Spotlight! -  "Spotlight" an item or area on your card to make it stand out.  Most spotlight cards use a circle to spotlight the item, it can be a different color than the rest of the card which makes it really stand out.

Here is what I came up, thanks to Denise Grey for sending me a beautiful digi image to use!

Please remember that our challenge is for A2 (4.25" x 5.5") cards ONLY.  We do not accept entries for square cards AND your card must be relatively FLAT with no lumpy bumpy embellishments, bows etc.  because we want all CARDS IN ENVY to fit in a regular envy for mailing with a single first class stamp.

Hope you will stop on over to the Cards In Envy to see what the rest of the design team did with this challenge and also to play along!
Have a good day!

Remember To Explore

That's the title on my layout this week for the Let's Get Sketchy sketch.
I used some photos of Austin looking for frogs and who knows what else while camping at Lake Sherwood in 2012. I used JilliBean Happy Camper papers for this fun layout:

I love the old car pulling the camper, isn't that cut?!

Here is the sketch by Bev:

Hope you have a happy Monday!

Today up on the Just Imagine blog, the design team is doing our monthly reveal. This month's theme is: FALL:

Here is my layout using Simple Sories of Sierra and her friends at last years Homecoming picture taking down by the Firefighters Memorial by the Wisconsin River. This is such a beautiful place to take pics!

I used the 4 in 1 Kreaxions Punch #907  with no insert to punch my border and then added the fall away piece to the bottom:

Hope you will head on over to the Just Imagine Blog to see what the rest of the design team created.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

My Favorite Thing About You

I am up on the Just Imagine Blog today and wanted to share my layout of Austin goofing off while we were camping:

I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #311 with no insert to create my border and weaved ribbon through it. I used the Star Stencil and the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch # 306 with insert A to create my doily and added bling to the center of the flowers. I also used the punched flowers to add to the upper right hand and lower left hand corner of the yellow patterned paper:

Here are the products I used:

Inspirational Elevator Challenge #18: Nostolgic

/s180/IEbutton.jpg" style="visibility: visible;" width="107" /> You may recall that the purpose of this challenge group is to take our scrapbooking to the next level, to stretch our creative process and to grow as artists by embracing challenges that make us think, work and grow. You can view all of the challenges our new Inspiration Elevator Blog, here.
We are also pleased to welcome Denise Morrison and her stunning artistic style back to Inspiration Elevator.
Our challenge this month comes from the very talented Lisa Spiegel . Here's what she had to say in her very own words: "October is my favorite month of the year. Hands down. The temperatures here in Southern California finally start to drop, we wear a light sweater, maybe even a little boot. We pull out the scarves and the leggings and put away the capris and tank tops. Leaves begin to change and we prepare for Halloween! My whole house is decorated, from top to bottom, and it is no small feat. I even swap out my dishes and serving ware in preparation for Fall and Halloween and I love to just keep the festivities going all the way through the Thanksgiving and then holiday season. My house will not return to "normal" until January. So, Lisa, tell us, how does this relate to a scrapbooking challenge? Well, what I've found over the years is my scrapping even changes over the holidays. I layer more. Reach for the bling and really dig deep to embellish with meaningful objects. Journal my thoughts and stories and feelings. Fall just make me nostalgic. So here is the challenge. Create a layout that is nostalgic...the feeling should be evident from the title, the visible journaling and the embellishments you choose. Choose deliberately and with purpose to tell your nostalgic story. I can't wait to see how you interpret this challenge!"

I thought long and hard on this challenge, it was one of the toughest Inpiration Elevator challenges yet!
I finally chose to do a layout about my daughter, Sierra. She has been fighting some issues since February and I thought she was doing well, but my world came crashing down on July 28th. I decided to scrap the days before this happened, those happy times. I am not going to share my journaling, as it is very personal and I won't let her read it for at least a few years.

I used the Pebbles Family Ties line for this layout and added some water waves using a stencil, light modeling paste and Glimmer Mist to emphasize the ROUGH WATERS AHEAD title:

These Are The Days!

It's my day up on the Just Imagine Blog and I wanted to share my layout of Austin and Greg taking a break at the Mall of America on Spring Break, 2012:

I used the Butterfly Punch (#604) along with the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #917 with no insert. I also used a My Scraps & More Sketch.
Here are a few close ups:

I used the negative piece of the punched butterfly and just cut the paper in a rectangle. Love how it pops off the page!

Help!

Hello and happy hump day!
It's my day up on the My Scraps & More Blog today and I wanted to share my layout I made using Fancy Pants What A Wonderful Day Collection along with sketch # 49 from the My Scraps & More Sketch Blog here as well. This line is so colorful and fun!
I stamped with paint and bubble wrap on my background and added some stamping with ink also:

Here is a close up of my stamping:

I thought the Thank You embellie and flag were perfect for this layout of Austin needing help getting out of the kayak and back up on the dock:

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Now That's Scarey!

That's the theme today for the card challenge at Cards In Envy.
This was a fun challenge and gave me the opportunity to use some of my older Echo Park Halloween papers:

I loved the sentiment "Eat, Drink and Be Scary" so fitting for this scary challenge!

Remember, that for the Cards in Envy challenge, we only accept A2 cards (4.25" x 5.5") that are relatively flat to fit in a first class envelope for regular first class postage.  That means no lumpy, bumpy thick cards.

If you play along with this challenge be sure to link it up on the Cards In Envy Blog.

Thanks for sharing your day with me!

Lisa

World Card Making Day Crops

Hello and Happy World Card Making Day!
Are you looking for some fun card challenges to work on this weekend?
There are a couple of message boards I have card challenges up on today.
The first one is at My Scraps & More. My challenge is to create a fall themed card. You can read more about it by clicking on the My Scraps & More link I have added above.
Here is my card:

I used an older BoBunny line for this card and added the bigger leave and acorns I bought a few years back at Michaels.

My second challenge is up at Turtle Soup and it is a recipe challenge. You can click on the Turtle Soup link to see my challenge.
 Here is my card:

I used an older Echo Park line for this one. I used a border punch, twine and a sticker.

Hope you find some scrappy time today and join me in both of these fun crops!

Have a great weekend!

Lucky You!

It's my day up on the Just Imagine Blog and I wanted to share my layout of Austin, Sierra  and 2 of their second cousins on the trampoline at my nephews house.
I used the Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #918 with no insert for the border and used the negative piece under it. I then used the same punch with the B insert to punch my corner. I added modeling paste using a mask and sprayer it with Glimmer Mist and also added some ink.

Here are a few close ups:

Here is the punch I used:

This is just a few ways to use one of the 4 in 1 Punches.

Enjoy your day!

Project Life- September

Hello and happy Wednesday!
Just wanted to share my Project 12 layout, or Life Captured as we call it on the message board at My Scraps & More. Every month I post a 2 page sketch that I created and a 2 page layout I created using it.
This month,  I used Crate Paper's Close Knit collection for my 2 pager:

Left side:

Right Side: I added a photo of our friend, Ron, who passed away this month after a 3 year battle with pancreatic cancer:

Would love to have you play along with my sketches. You can check them out here.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!
